About 6 kms from Udupi, in South Canara is Malpe, an ideal picnic spot with its virgin beach. The pristine beauty of the Malpe Beach is complemented by peaceful surroundings; which makes it a favorite holiday spot. It is just as popular in Udupi as the Juhu Beach is in Mumbai. Malpe Beach is characterised by Silver white Sand beach which is still quite secluded and not visited by a lot of tourists. Besides the beauty of the clear blue sea and the long silver beach a boat ride to the uninhabited St. Mary's Isles can a be thrilling experience.
